As part of a design brief, I selected Adidas’ Castle Towers location to transform it into a dynamic, visually compelling retail space. This project required both concept and design development phases, including detailed documentation and high-quality renders to effectively present the final design.

Adidas is renowned not only for its activewear but also for its commitment to social impact, brand values, and cultural influence. I aimed to reflect these elements by designing a space that deepens customer engagement, allowing them to experience the dedication that defines the Adidas brand.

I began the concept phase by visiting the store, where I consulted with staff to understand their preferences. After measuring the space and reviewing Adidas’ branding guidelines, I created a mood board with elements like neon lighting for an immersive ambiance and imagery that represents Adidas’ three-stripe logo, symbolising Performance, Design, and Craftsmanship. This board served as an anchor for creating an immersive customer experience.

The brief also emphasised innovation through AV technology and sustainable materials. I incorporated interactive smart mirrors in fitting rooms, allowing customers to explore product variations, enhancing their knowledge and confidence in their purchases. Sustainability was represented in the materials selected for the POS desk and display fixtures, including recycled glass, black steel, ashcrete, and reclaimed timber.

To further refine the experience, I developed an Event Theory Planning board that mapped significant touchpoints within the space. Major features included the POS desk and shoe display wall, with daily interactions highlighted at peg walls and displays, and memorable moments designed around table displays, window displays, and interactive mirrors.

I used Revit to create detailed project documentation, including floor plans, demolition and RCP plans, and sections. Custom family models were developed for elements like the shoe wall display and POS desk, which enhanced the 3D rendering quality. I then rendered the complete design in Enscape, bringing the space to life and allowing for a cohesive, immersive visual representation of my design vision.
