For this brief, I was tasked with redesigning a two-storey apartment in Wentworth Point to include two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a large study, and an expansive open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area. The project also involved designing a large terrace space with a pergola structure. Given the high level of documentation required, it was crucial to maintain attention to detail throughout the design process.

I started by printing the provided floorplans and brainstorming various layout options directly onto the sheets. This helped identify optimal locations for the powder room, study, kitchen, living and dining spaces, and the bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level. I paid special attention to the staircase placement to minimise space wastage and enhance overall flow. After developing a few promising ideas, I drew them to scale to ensure everything would fit within the designated areas, allowing me to make any necessary adjustments.

Once the final sketched floorplans were established, I transferred them into Revit using the provided file. This digital representation allowed me to visualise how each space interacted in terms of size and functionality, confirming that the design met the brief. I then focused on detailing each room, creating comprehensive plans, elevations, and sections for all areas, including the overall building. This level of detail facilitated effective communication of design ideas to the clients. I also produced detailed 1:5 scale drawings of ceilings, stairs, joinery, wall, window, and door details to ensure accurate execution by contractors.

To maximise functionality and cohesion in both interior and exterior spaces, I created furniture plans. For the outdoor pergola structure, I employed the Family Generic Model technique in Revit, allowing for a unique design that met the clients' needs for a partially shaded area to accommodate their outdoor furniture and enhance their enjoyment of the terrace.

Upon completion, I detailed each drawing with keynotes for all products, finish codes, annotations, dimensions, and hatching to clearly communicate the designs. Each drawing was then placed onto an A3 page in Revit, complete with legends for the items addressed and a scale bar to ensure accurate communication with clients and contractors.
