To design 3 commercial spaces on a single level.

-
Encompassing the city skyline within the design
Located in the Sydney suburb of Edgecliff, the Mnemosyne serviced floor project features three individually designed commercial spaces on a single level, catering to guests of the Mnemosyne serviced apartments and the general public. The design process began with mind mapping various commercial options that would fit the unique, angular shape of the building, considering the needs of both the public and apartment residents. Ultimately, a restaurant, outdoor bar, and gym were selected as the final three space choices.
To emphasise the building's geometry, inspiration and mood boards were created, showcasing its distinctiveness while fostering a practical yet luxurious atmosphere in each space. Consistency across the three areas was crucial, yet each needed a unique design to meet different service requirements. After establishing the inspiration and mood boards, AutoCAD floor plans were developed, taking into account each space's specific needs, including bathrooms, changing rooms, and kitchens, along with optimal furniture placement.
In crafting the overall design, I aimed to ensure a high-end and luxurious feel throughout all three spaces. The design incorporated floor-to-ceiling windows to connect the indoors with the outdoors, allowing natural light to permeate the spaces and showcasing stunning views of the city skyline. Given the commercial nature of the spaces, careful consideration was given to material selection to ensure durability while complementing the luxurious atmosphere. Selected materials included white and black marble, dark timbers, brushed gold, brushed black steel, textured plaster, and durable upholstery. When integrated with greenery and decorative accessories, these materials brought the spaces to life. The final step involved rendering the various spaces to effectively communicate the design vision.
